Position Summary: Work with other Cleaning Techs and Team Leader to provide our clients with the South Star Cleaning experience. South Star Cleaning, LLC provides cleaning services of the highest quality to high end homes and commercial companies throughout the Wiregrass area. We are looking for cleaning professionals who are ready to join the South Star family.

All Janitors are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of client facilities. Travel to and from locations is required. Each site may take one team member 1-4 hours to complete tasks. Shifts begin at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. depending upon starting location. Shifts range from 4-8 hours per night.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Sweep or vacuum and damp mop hard surface floors and vacuum carpeted floors, multiple times a day
• Cleaning of break room tables and team member areas throughout the workday
• Dust work surfaces, other furniture, and other horizontal and vertical surfaces
• Clean restrooms 2+ times daily, including toilets, urinals, partitions, sinks, counters, mirrors, floors and walls
• Replenish restroom dispensers with paper products and soap
• Clean entrance glass and other interior glass
• Work effectively with other team members
• Conduct all work in accordance with company procedures, including safety, time & attendance
• Operate and maintain equipment such as vacuum cleaners
• Remove trash from containers and replace torn or soiled liner
• Clean designated smoking area daily
• Report building and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience
• Must have the ability to work both independently and within a team
• Must have a passion for quality and be naturally attentive to details
• Must be reliable and able to work at an efficient pace
• Must have transportation & valid Drivers License
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift and / or carry up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to effectively verbally communicate and exchange information with others.
• Work will be completed in parts of the facility that are not temperature controlled.
• Work is primarily completed by standing or walking and may require bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching

South Star Cleaning is currently seeking a Lead Cleaner to join our team. As a Lead Cleaner, you will be responsible for cleaning high-end residential properties (both recurring and one-time clients such as move-out cleanings and deep residential cleans), as well as leading cleaning teams and checking team members quality of work. Residential operations are conducted Monday through Friday. Residential operation times can be from 8am to 5pm, with no evening hours unless requested (commercial) depending upon work load, travel, etc.

Must be able to pass drug test and background check. Must have transportation and valid drivers license.

As the Lead Cleaner, you will be the main point of contact with the customer and your manager. You will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, driving revenue through customer retention, and cleaner training. We require some experience for this position, but we will also train you on our South Star Cleaning, LLC Residential Cleaning check list and system.

For the first 90 days of employment, if hired, your compensation will be as a subcontractor utilizing a W-9 Form for tax purposes.

Weekly hours may fluctuate based upon work load. Please provide your availability.

Responsibilities:

Clean residential properties in a timely and efficient manner

Lead a team of one to two cleaners, ensuring that all cleaning duties are completed thoroughly and to our clients’ satisfaction.

Communicate with clients and provide exceptional customer service.

Train new cleaners in our South Star Cleaning System and Standards.

Assist with customer retention and drive revenue through converting to recurring cleaning services

Maintain equipment and cleaning supplies

Travel to & from client properties is required. 

Compensation: Starting $18 per hour, dependent upon verified experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Dusting, vacuuming, steam mopping, scrubbing grout, showers, bath, toilets, sinks, tile, etc. Vacuuming carpets, upholstery, and other dusty surfaces. Cleaning all surfaces in kitchen and bathrooms. Making beds, fluffing pillows, folding blankets and towels. Scrubbing and sanitizing all relevant surfaces. Handling and cleaning all furniture and appliances carefully. 

Requirements: 

• Available Monday – Friday (20 – 40 hours a week)
• Work well in a fast paced environment.
• No cleaning experience required
• Able to wear a mask if requested by client
• Ability to understand verbal and written instruction
• Ability to stand, sit, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
• Able to lift 25 pounds
• Able to push, pull, and work above your head
• Able to climb multiple flights of stairs
